Always Been There, Just Never Seen it Before

Work has been progressing on the remastering of the Network Neighbourhood video for its ten year anniversary. Its been captured from a pre-edit master so the video is much better quality, improved audio and music, glitches all cleaned up and also to top it off all the original editing mistakes have been removed! The video was made using 2 VCRs with one on pause and then record with the other supplying the footage. Sometimes when putting a trick on to the edit you accidentally let it run too long and there would be a split second added to the edit of footage from the next clip after the trick...nimble fingers were required to operate the buttons but sometimes mistakes were made. With linear editing you couldn't go back and fix it easily either. Most of the time you'll not notice them as they are so quick, only a few frames at most and most of the time the extra footage is worthless but during the process of removing these edit mistakes we found a frame or two of this lost in the edit. It's Kev and Pete at the white bar with the blue oyster filmed by probably Steve Green. It's weird, it has always been in the video but it took 10 years before we ever got to see it. Subliminal radness.

The 'We Are' Monster Network video boxset (which the remastered Network Neighbourhood will be part of) is progressing. We'll be posting up other old pics and clips soon as well as all our usual current news, photos and footage!

Romford Rumblings

Russ and Veran decided to take a trip to the the London/Essex borders on Saturday, meeting up with locals from those parts Si, Kev, Gary and Tom.

After a quick warm up at the Dagenham park it was off to the 'Witch's Hat'
bank spot - lets just say this spot is way harder to skate than it looks, in the middle of a really busy roundabout and really rough. That didnt stop Si, Veran and Tom all putting down some good tricks. After a quick visit to Asda for food and Veran to log a little more footy, the crew headed for the now famous ditch spot in Romford. Pikey kids, two wet boards, some really good footy and it was time for the long drive home. Thanks for being great tour guides lads - your turn to visit us again soon.

Its a London Thing

Thursday night was the opening night of Dave's latest art show with The Scrawl Collective entitled 'Elephant Technique' in London's trendy shoreditch area. Free beers, an amazing venue and our boy Dave producing some lovely work made it a classic night out in the smoke. Good work DD!

Some Next Level Shit...

All this talk of Russ filming for various projects gave us an idea, remember the old 3D Jaws movie in the 80s? well no ones making 3D skateboard videos...yet!

We sent Dave and Gonz to a secret 3D test bunker to be our guinea pigs. As for the results...i think the photo speaks for itself really, imagine Jacob's Ladder meets a Morecambe and Wise christmas special...

Veran Tull - Into the Fall

(20.3MB, quicktime)

Veran has recently been putting down some incredible new footage for Russ for use in a few upcoming new video projects including the new The Harmony video, Mike's upcoming Chelmsfordians video and, of course, the new Monster Network project, whatever that may be! 'Into the Fall' has now sold through and sold out (if you are still after a copy we can knock some up as and when!). We did a very respectable run of about 200 and they all went super quick so a big thanks to everyone who helped out or bought a copy. Anyway, it's a sunny Friday so we've decided to let everyone get a watch of the awesome Veran part from the video ...

Filmed by Russ Cowling

Busier Bees...

Sorry for the lack of recent updates, everyone has been crazy busy. Dave and Gonz both moved house in the last week, Russ left Hoax and got a dope new job, Sandy had his 30th birthday, Russ had his 29th birthday plus a bunch of skateboarding scattered in between. But seeing as it is Friday we've got a bunch of news and content to go up!
