Kept Back Until it Was Too Late For Her to Say No...!

Not really, basically we didn't get hold of Sandy's stag night in Cambridge photos until after he tied the knot so here they are. It was boooooozy booze from muppets with hangovers. Basically, pub by the river, comedy in a big tent with jugs of booze, walking lost to the club, club with band, chapagne, a million and one stories and hangovers with breakfast. Not to mention a weekend of car troubles! Anyway...what goes on tour stays on tour.

Axel Nights...

(6.9MB, quicktime)

Russ and Ben arrived home safe and sound early last Sunday morning from a mid week jaunt in Barcelona with Dave Underwood. Senior Dave has been there for the last month so had loads of good spots to show his Essex guests. Russ got a email from Dave yesterday (we think he is missing them already), he has been out most nights down the Macba then popping into the Hotel Axel on his way home for a cocktail!? Some things never change.... have a safe journey home next week Dave. Here are some photos and a bit of footy...enjoy!

The Gap...

Spied this the other night in Colchester...we would have unleashed out lawyers like a pack of rabid wolves on The Gap's management and legal department but then again, their new autumn collection is rather dazzling and the sale rail has been pretty decent in past weeks so we'll let them off. This time.

Sunny Side of the Street...

Russ and Ben are flying out today to meet Dave Underwood in Barcalona, escaping the bland weather here for something a little closer to summer. They're out skating and maybe a bit of filming too, if the camera gets through security! Expect a bunch of photos when they get back at the weekend...

INTO THE FALL by Monster Network Cinema

uk scene production

WHAT IS IT? Into The Fall is the latest in a long line of scene productions from the Essex area which features some of the new talent in the related scenes as well as sections from some longstanding UK skaters, forum heavy hitters, company owners and artistes. The vibe throughout is heavily fun and friendship orientated with all the ingredients of any good British scene vid
- supermarket carparks, rugged schoolyards, crazy bank spots and people taking the piss. Perfect...

WHOS IN IT? Sandy, Steve Bailey, Paul Gonella, Russell Cowling, Adam Leeds, Sam Juner, David Dixon, Jay Tate, Ben Sutcliff, Neil Smith, David Underwood, Veran Tull and a host of cameos.

HIGHLIGHTS? As with all Monster Network projects the production values here are high, the filming is solid throughout, the editing is straight forward and clean, the soundtrack varied and the still photography featured is worth a look on its own.
Nobodys backlipping El Toro obviously but what you do get is a whole load of competent skating on homegrown terrain, this dvd will make you want to go out skating; no matter how shit your local spots are.
Standouts came from nearly everyone featured in one way or another: Sandy, Russ Cowling, Dave Dixon and the Monster rep it for all us middle-aged street tits out there, whilst Dave Underwood goes mad tech - nollie heelflip fs crooks at full speed anyone? Steve Bailey (no, not that one), Luke Harvey, Jay Tate and Veran Tull make up the hot new talent contingent with Simon Skipp and John Hayward ably filling the "Essex Legends" vacancy.
Extras include two unused footage montages, more still photography, slams and more.

OVERALL? A really well thought out and produced glimpse at a tight and long established scene featuring everyone from Blueprints pros to trembling aesthetes. Into The Fall will fill you with a warm glow and make you thirst for Sainsburys carpark again. Well worth your money.

Cambridge, Apologies in Advance

It's Sandy's stag night tonight in Cambridge...so we wish to apologise in advance to all the residents and other visitors of this historic and beautiful city on this sunny Saturday for any drunken retardness that might or might not occur this evening. sorry!

Bury Productive Day Out

Sandy, Steve, Russ and Gonz were joined by Channon King on Sunday for a street skate around sunny Bury St Edmunds. After a very quick stretch at the park we hit up some of the local hot spots, bars, stairs, banks and even walls. The bail gun got a good airing and a return visit with a few of Sunday's absenties looks promising...
