Paul recently found an old roll of medium format film shot with his Holga camera during a winter's Sudbury session back in 2007 with Dave, Sandy and Russ. Here are are a few of the photos.

Leigh On Sea

Russ and a few others were in Southend yesterday and checked out the progress of the new Leigh On Sea Skatepark. Its on the same site as the original Rampage park and is looking really sick. Good street area, nice bowl and even a large spine to vert wall which we are guessing is a little nod to the old park!?

The builders reckoned it will be finished in a couple of weeks, see you there!

G'day Steve...

Steve has been back home in Australia since last month and is set to return to these shores at New Years. He seems to be having a good time enjoying the sunny weather and getting a few skates in here and there.

Enjoy the sunshine Steve as when you return you're gonna need to film your enders in the freezing cold!

Bailey 18

A few years have passed since Sandy first mentioned "there's this little Aussie kid that skates the park who's rad" And today big Steve Bailey turns 18. Next time we see you Steve we expect a full grown beard, a taste for local ales, a strong dislike for children at skateparks and a tendency to go on about how skateboarding was better when you first started!

Happy Birthday Steve from everyone at MN HQ.

South Woodham ruler and friend of the network Neil Smith is on tour around a bunch of the UK skateparks in the coming days as part of a promotion for EA Games' new skateboarding game 'Skate'. Russ and Ben in 'We're Ok EurOk'...

Girl/Chocolate's recent 'We're Ok EurOk' tour has been put together by Meza as a downloadable video up on Crailtap. Tucked away during the Southbank section is Russ and Ben with FGPs...

p.s. By the sounds of it crailtap are having a little bother with the traffic for the new vid, if you do get it downloaded and it doesn't play try changing the .mov to .m4v and it should play in itunes.

p.p.s. Southsea's own Rob Pybus is the one in the middle doing the Portsmouth 'wot you lookin at?'

Russ and The Skateboard Mag...

Stop the presses! As you may have been reading in other places in the internet village, white grounds skatepark now has an 18 age limit for most of the times its opened and this has become a hot potato with not only the locals but now also with most main skate websites in the UK and worldwide. MN HQ just got word that The Skateboard Mag had put up a news item on the subject here. As you may notice...there is a huge photo of Russ! The photo was taken a little while ago by Gorm during a London meet up. Also linked via an interview with Kevin Parrott and the same photo again (russ needs photo incentives) is an online petition against the age limit and you should get on there and sign it asap.

Save Southsea Skatepark!

It's looking like Portsmouth council are dead set on closing Southsea Skatepark sometime in September which would be a terrible blow to both Southsea skateboarding and the UK as a whole. The Monster Network has strong ties with Southsea going back many years so we're joining Bored and the skatepark user group in trying to stop the council in it's tracks. If you could spare a few seconds and put your name down on the online petition it could make a real difference!

For further information and details on user group weekly meetings and progress check the Bored website.

Maybe we should post up the awesome Kylie cover instead to make up for the camo overload...

Catchup

Sorry about the lack of updates, everyone has been super busy in the last few days. The Harmony's Danijel Todorovic has been in town for a few days, word is alot of old (and new!) Colchester spots have taken a Scandinavian beatdown of the highest order. Russ took care of the video duties, expect to see Colchester's beautiful spots and Danijel in the upcoming Harmony flick in a few months.

Next up, LBD will be back in the UK over Christmas! Miniramps are quaking in their boots at the thought of the backside disasters slapping their coping in the next couple of weeks...

Last but not least, Dave is having an art exhibition in Colchester. It is at the Schomberg Gallery in St Johns Street. Go look.
