(19.5MB quicktime)

'Into the Fall' Week - Jay, Ben, Neil, Dave & Veran...

Thursday's 'Into the Fall' week instalment is the Jay Tate, Ben Sutcliff, Neil Smith and Dave Underwood section and the last part, Veran Tull's section (plus the end titles). We hope everyone who didn't get a chance to catch the video the first time has enjoyed having a watch. Once again we would like to thank everyone who was involved in its making, everyone who filmed, skated, etc. Roll on the next video...
p.s. it's Go Skateboarding Day today so if your legs are feeling itchy after watching those killer parts then dust of the wheeled girlfriend and scratch up a curb, bomb a gradient and pop an ollie or two, it's the summer, happy skateboarding!

'Into the Fall' Week - Friends & Dave...

Today's third 'Into the Fall' week instalment is the Friends section and David Dixon's section. A little known thing...when Dave bombs North Hill at the end of his part his rear kingpin nut and bushing fall off his truck halfway down making that bomb extra gnar. Keep you eyes open for it...

'Into the Fall' Week...

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of the premiere of 'Into the Fall' and to celebrate all this week we are going to be uploading parts of the video culminating on Friday with a little surprise!
The last twelve months have flown by and loads of things have changed. The new Monster network video project is building up serious momentum and we think is going to be rather interesting...we'll be releasing more details about that project and some other recent video projects in the next few weeks.
Today we've added to the 'Into the Fall' watch online page the Titles and the rather awesome Sandy and Steve Bailey part, alot of people's favourite section highlighting the mix of old and new but all heavily steezed out! Check back each day this week for more parts.

Into the Archives

(5.4MB, quicktime)
Whilst looking through old tapes from I.T.F we found a few extra bits from a day out we had at Dunmow fly over banks at the end of last April. A few of the clips you may recognise from the DVD but everything else has never seen the light of day. See if you can spot Veran pulling his best "Blue Steele".

Veran Tull - Into the Fall

(20.3MB, quicktime)
Veran has recently been putting down some incredible new footage for Russ for use in a few upcoming new video projects including the new The Harmony video, Mike's upcoming Chelmsfordians video and, of course, the new Monster Network project, whatever that may be! 'Into the Fall' has now sold through and sold out (if you are still after a copy we can knock some up as and when!). We did a very respectable run of about 200 and they all went super quick so a big thanks to everyone who helped out or bought a copy. Anyway, it's a sunny Friday so we've decided to let everyone get a watch of the awesome Veran part from the video ...

INTO THE FALL by Monster Network Cinema
uk scene production
WHAT IS IT? Into The Fall is the latest in a long line of scene productions from the Essex area which features some of the new talent in the related scenes as well as sections from some longstanding UK skaters, forum heavy hitters, company owners and artistes. The vibe throughout is heavily fun and friendship orientated with all the ingredients of any good British scene vid
- supermarket carparks, rugged schoolyards, crazy bank spots and people taking the piss. Perfect...
WHOS IN IT? Sandy, Steve Bailey, Paul Gonella, Russell Cowling, Adam Leeds, Sam Juner, David Dixon, Jay Tate, Ben Sutcliff, Neil Smith, David Underwood, Veran Tull and a host of cameos.
HIGHLIGHTS? As with all Monster Network projects the production values here are high, the filming is solid throughout, the editing is straight forward and clean, the soundtrack varied and the still photography featured is worth a look on its own.
Nobodys backlipping El Toro obviously but what you do get is a whole load of competent skating on homegrown terrain, this dvd will make you want to go out skating; no matter how shit your local spots are.
Standouts came from nearly everyone featured in one way or another: Sandy, Russ Cowling, Dave Dixon and the Monster rep it for all us middle-aged street tits out there, whilst Dave Underwood goes mad tech - nollie heelflip fs crooks at full speed anyone? Steve Bailey (no, not that one), Luke Harvey, Jay Tate and Veran Tull make up the hot new talent contingent with Simon Skipp and John Hayward ably filling the "Essex Legends" vacancy.
Extras include two unused footage montages, more still photography, slams and more.
OVERALL? A really well thought out and produced glimpse at a tight and long established scene featuring everyone from Blueprints pros to trembling aesthetes. Into The Fall will fill you with a warm glow and make you thirst for Sainsburys carpark again. Well worth your money.

Lost Footage

(0.6MB, quicktime)
We've been cleaning out and archiving all the 'Into the Fall' files on the computer and a few clips of footage that somehow slipped through the cracks have been found. Somehow they went missing during the edit until now so we'll be posting a trick up now and again so they finally get to be seen...

Old 'Into the Fall' Teaser

(0.3MB, quicktime)
Some spring cleaning on the old death star now that 'Into the Fall' is done and dusted has resulted in finding this little clip, a short teaser for 'Into the Fall' that was made to demonstrate the general aesthetic of the then forthcoming video. It was never used for anything apart from passing ideas between Gonz and Russ in the final weeks before editing started.
Editied in April 2006 by Gonz.

"It's the Final Countdown..."

So...one more day to go and the weather is looking very promising for everyone looking forward to sipping on cold beer in the evening after catching 'Into The Fall'. So this is the last reminder, the Premiere is tomorrow and we'll be kicking things off around 7:30pm at Cabaret Voltaire in Colchester (see here for the map, etc). We're super excited about just having loads of friends from all over all gathered together and having a few drinks on a summer's evening. Can't be bad, eh?
Oh, one last sneaky bit of info on the video, have a guess who might be pulling the proverbial curtains...

Outtakes...

(13.8MB, quicktime)
Again, sorry for the lack of updates, we've been super busy working on finishing the dvd by this weekend to allow us to get a bunch of dvds ready for the night of the premiere, we're hoping to have a pile of them for sale for only a fiver. More details on the dvd next week! The edit of the final video cut is almost done so we've pulled a few unused tricks out as outtakes for the website (you may need the latest version of Quicktime to view the clip).
We've been lucky to get a mention in this month's Sidewalk magazine and also on the Document website too, check both the magazine websites out for loads of awesome general skate news, photos, clips, etc. Anyway, back to the editing cave away from the glorious weather...
Update: Due to a few technical problems a replacement quicktime clip has been uploaded, hope that works better than the last...sorenson right now seems to have a terrible temper. sorry!

The Old Trailer

(14MB, iPod ready quicktime)
As a little reminder we've put up the original trailer for 'Into the Fall' that Russ edited up back in October 2005. The video didn't even have a name at the time but in the preceeding few months running up to the trailer we had logged so much footage it had pushed us towards the idea of producing a video and making it within twelve months of our last, 'Lately'.
