Was very stoked to see Transworld post up a photo of John Cardiel taken by Skin at Leigh on Sea during a tour back in 1992. Also on the tour were Salman Agah, Mark Gonzales, Ron Chatman, Karma and Alan Petersen. A bunch of us went to see that tour so I had a look to see if any of us were in the background and there we all were on the platforms. From the left is Jacob, Little Chris, Kev, Yan and Paul plus Aaron on the lower platform next to Mark Gonzales. I’m not sure if Justin is next to Aaron, but Justin was there (ripping as always).
Anyway, really stoked as it seems nobody has seen this photo before. During the day loads of footage was filmed but sadly it was all on the now infamous lost Monster Network VHS tape (also containing the first Cornwall Trip and loads of street skating footage). Still gutted about that. The good news is that someone else was there at Leigh on Sea that day and filmed loads of the skating, see the footage under the photos below. Kev should have been at the Thrasher Skater of the Year awards last week:
Now Chris Cole, Im really happy for you, and imma let you finish, but Jim Rands had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!
Went to Colchester Arts Centre on Friday night to see British Sea Power. Not only were they amazing, but I bumped into long lost Maldon/MN legend Mr James O’Grady!. Stoked!

Back in 1996-7ish Bryony, Emmeline and Scott worked together on Trashmag, a little local magazine they put together. I was in Portsmouth at the time and thought it would be funny to send them a letter and figured they would guess who it was from, turns out they didn’t. Oops. I guess it isn’t something you can do these days without getting in a spot of bother. No Anthrax was harmed in this presentation. – Paul.
Was looking through some old bits and pieces the other day and found found an old posse shot of the OG MN crew back in…maybe 1995? The scan is a bit crappy but it stoked me out, we used to roll crew deep when street skating Chelmsford.
OG legend Matt Letch sadly broke his ankle the other day, get well soon Matt. We dug out some old 1995 offcuts, back when the legs allowed matt to jump down stairs!
OG Monster Network homies Chaz (Chelmsford legend) and Bob Gibson (one time part owner of the best 80s jump ramp in Bicknacre) originally formed The London Police about 10 years ago when they moved to Amsterdam, since then they have travelled around the world with their iconic and unique street art. StolenSpace Gallery in east London will be hosting their latest exhibition with an opening party on Thursday night (*nudge* free beer…) and the show will run until the 26th of April. Check here for more info and be sure to catch the show if you can.
Huge props to both Chaz and Bob for their 10th anniversary show!
