Whilst looking through some tapes we came across this footage of LBD a little while back getting his no-complys on (or should that be complies?). Word is Dan is back in the UK for a visit next year!
Jay and the likdown have been keeping themselves busy in between filming their section for never forever, they’ve just put together the offcuts from their latest video; the Lik vol1.
these guys are killing it right now..
Mondon has been hard at working going through the old hi8 tapes in preparation for the release of the Meathead Films (Adam and Dave Underwood) Anthology on DVD. Here is the new trailer…hold on tight for the January release.
Today is MN OG Kevin Peacock’s birthday. This weekend saw a serious amount of booze consumed in (the sun always shines on) Southsea with Paul going down from Croydon and MN Welsh homie Tambini coming down from Cardiff. On the Sunday with rusty knees and hurting heads Kev and Tambini dusted off their skills on Kev’s local mini whilst dodging puddles and heckles. Keep on rolling KP!
Big news of the weekend was of Kev and his lovely lady Alex getting engaged! A big man hug and handshake to them both from all at the Network.
Long time friend of the MN Mark Longman plus Jamie Bomber Wilson and Adam Gill are all set to open their new skateshop Switch Skatestore on the 24th of this month down in lovely Leigh. It’s been a while since Southend has had a grassroots skateshop to call it’s own and what with the new skatepark building momentum not to mention the sick local skate talent the future of Southend-on-Sea is very bright!
Slow but sure progress has been made on the ‘We Are’ DVD boxset project. In recent months both ‘Crack in the Clouds’ and ‘International Coverup’ have been converted from VHS originals to DVD format. Monster Network’s 3rd full length video from 1996 ‘Network Neighbourhood’ has had special treatment with it being remastered with new stereo audio and all the editing mistakes and VHS tape glitches removed! Looking really good. Work is continuing on the extras and the new video ‘We Are’ using unseen footage from 1992-1994 and we’re looking at a 2008 release. Check the videography page for the original trailer and further details.
You know what would be amazing? If the legendary missing master VHS tape found it’s way home. Footage of the first Cornwall trip in 1992, Mark Gonzales, Karma, Petersen and Agah at Leigh-on-Sea plus a load of sick local footage (Justin halfnabbing the big civic stairs in 1993 for example) that is going to be missed.
Have a look in your VHS pile at home or in the shed or in the loft, on the off chance.
Speaking of Justin, Check the height of this! Russ doing the business the other side of the lens…
