Roots Reggae Radical…

November 24th, 2006

Over the years alot of spots have come and subsequently gone and one particular example is the planter banks at the Gemini Centre in Chelmsford. Originally skated first back in around 1986ish (back then also known as ‘The Spot’ and ‘The Bricks’) the spot got heavily skated in the early to mid 90s before being lost a few years later to the office’s car parking requirements. The straight banks are still there and are still super fun but…just imagine skating the planter banks now! Spot R.I.P. for sure.

This rough footage was filmed on a summer evening in 1995 and features Monster Network OGs, Matt Letch, James Rands, Pete Harrison and Kevin Peacock. Filmed by Paul Gonella.

Kingpin and Dave Watson

November 23rd, 2006

Dave Watson

Dave Watson’s underground legend status is in peril…Dave has a ‘Shine On’ in the new issue of Kingpin Magazine and as such goes to just international legend status instead! Good work Dave! Check the Kingpin website for general European skateboarding goodness and check your local newsagents for the mag with the full page glossy snap. If you haven’t picked up a copy of ‘Into the Fall’ (really?), you need to, Dave has some sick footage up in there.

Cheers to Adam Mondon for the heads up!

News reached us today that Romfords finest and friend of the Network Nigel Davies broke his foot whilst out skating the other day. As we’ve mentioned before Nigel rips, and we know that something like this isnt gonna stop him, so hopefully it wont be too long before he’s back out destroying Rom. Here is a clip of Nigel from a few weeks back having some more bad luck.

Get well soon Nigel!

Taggers…

November 14th, 2006

Not the sort that ruin bus shelters but the sort of tags that mean you can view all the video or roadtrip or Into the Fall or many other type of posts all on the same page. Crafty. Check the ‘labels:’ links under each post…

p.s. the archive links (below the premiere photos) have also been updated so you can view posts by month/year too.
