Spend a little time looking at MN friend Ollie Gooch’s website for art and photographic goodness…
(recognise vez in the artwork?)
We’ve been cleaning out and archiving all the ‘Into the Fall’ files on the computer and a few clips of footage that somehow slipped through the cracks have been found. Somehow they went missing during the edit until now so we’ll be posting a trick up now and again so they finally get to be seen…
During the Winter of 2005/2006 the weather got so bleak we ended up looking for some dry space to skate as the rain and cold passed over until the Spring would arrive again. Steve had spied a place with potential and one Sunday we decided to make the trip over and see what we could put together. The warehouse had some old wood and we found a filing cabinet in the bushes outside and with a bunch of teamwork before long a kicker to high ledge was getting skated. Sandy, Gonz and Russ then put together a ledge from an old shelf unit, desktops and a wiring conduit cover which turned out to be absolutely perfect. Within a couple of Sundays the place was pretty much set up with a new wallride, the ledge and the kicker ledge getting sessioned heavily until the sun set (no electricity). Soon the spring did finally arrive, as it always does eventually, and the warehouse was left get back to its weeds and broken glass. During our time at the TF Russ filmed a load of footage. Some clips made it to the final cut of ‘Into the Fall’ and we were going to put together an extra of all the TF footage but never had the time, until now.

Today is Veran’s 18th Birthday, you are now officially a man (grrr, *flex*)! Happy birthday Vezington Esq from all of us, most of which only have vague memories of their own 18ths back in the dawn of time…things like fighting woolly mammoths, crossing the Bering Straight by foot, you know, stuff like that…

Saturday was baking hot but that didn’t put off friends of the network Kevin Parrott, Tom Ball and Si Skipp making the drive up the A12 to Colchester to join up for a trip around the local street spots with Gonz, Veran and Ollie. First up was Royal London Banks, then a few more Colchester spots before off to Wivenhoe. Kev filmed a bunch of stuff for a project he’s working on and everyone had a super fun skate. A reciprocal visit is on the cards…

Some spring cleaning on the old death star now that ‘Into the Fall’ is done and dusted has resulted in finding this little clip, a short teaser for ‘Into the Fall’ that was made to demonstrate the general aesthetic of the then forthcoming video. It was never used for anything apart from passing ideas between Gonz and Russ in the final weeks before editing started.
Editied in April 2006 by Gonz.

Gonz’s photography website ‘quiet corners’ has just been given a re-design and loads more photos have been added including many that were exhibited at the ‘Into the Fall’ premiere. go have a look…
